It was on my Netflix list for years, but a few weeks ago, I took the plunge and decided to watch it. Wow, wow, wow. Thank goodness I finally succumbed. I was blown away by so many different elements of this story. First, the show blatantly discusses classism (prejudice or preference for certain social classes). Episodes: 50 Aired: 6/27/19 - 8/20/19 Country: China Description: Two talented disciples of respectable magical clans unit during the cultivation training and through many hardships they are together. (Depending on where you read the description, it will label the main characters as either 'soulmates' or 'best friends'. Take with that what you will.) General Impression: I have to say, when I first started to watch the show, I was immediately lost. Starting on episode 3, there is a time jump to the past that lasts until episode 35. However, once you watch the show, you have a better picture of what is going on. This show is based on a novel called "Mo Dao Zu Shi" (translation: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation), by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. I started reading the novel about halfway through my watching of the show, and I have to say, they did an excellent job adapting the novel to the screen.
